What Happens in Infant School Age Drama Classes?

Our Infant School Age drama classes are all about playful beginnings and growing confidence. Each week, children go on exciting drama adventures, becoming animals, exploring magical lands, solving problems together, and stepping into different characters.

Through storytelling, movement, and drama games, children learn to:

  • Express themselves with confidence

  • Improve communication and listening skills

  • Develop imagination and creativity

  • Build friendships and work as a team

Across the year, we also spend short periods (around 6 weeks in the autumn and summer terms) preparing for our showcases. During these times, children rehearse for about 20 minutes of each session while still enjoying plenty of games and imaginative activities. This ensures rehearsals stay fun, engaging, and balanced with the creative play that underpins every class.

Class Structure & Approach

We keep sessions gently structured to suit younger children. Activities are designed to balance creativity with skill-building, always focusing on confidence and enjoyment.
Each year, students take part in joyful showcases performed in professional spaces, where they can share their journey with family in a celebratory, low-pressure environment. These shows are written especially for us and are often based around popular classic stories that children love at this age.

A Note on Reception-Age Children

If your child is young for Reception and are joining us early in the Autumn Term, some may find a mid-week class a little long after a full day at school. In these cases, we often recommend our Saturday classes, which provide a more relaxed option. Of course, if your child is confident and used to regular activity clubs, they may thrive in mid-week sessions. We’re always happy to discuss what will suit your child best.

Inclusivity & Accessibility

We welcome all children who are comfortable learning in an energetic group environment. Please note that we are not a specialist SEND provision and cannot provide one-to-one support in group sessions.
