ROALD DAHL’S “THE WITCHES” – SHADOW THEATRE WORKSHOP
Dates: Thursday 31st October to Friday 1st November
Venue: Kelvin Theatre Players, Gloucester Road, Bristol BS7
Times: 10 am to 4.30 pm (with a performance to enjoy at 4 pm on the Friday)
A 2 day workshop taking students on an exciting and creative journey into the world of drama and performance. With our first day falling on Halloween, then what better stimulus should we use than the brilliant and popular Roald Dahl story "Witches" as the basis of some new adventures.
The Workshop offers children the opportunity to learn about performance styles on our first day (Thursday 31st October) with a focus on Shadow Theatre and then create and perform a short devised play on our second day (Friday 1st November).
Children can attend either 1 or both days as each session is self contained.
Thursday 31st October
In this session, through the wonderful and weird world of Roald Dahl, children will develop creative thinking and teamwork skills, build confidence and learn performance styles such as improvisation and physical theatre.
Friday 1st November
In this session, the children will create the world of the story based on The Witches: develop characters, create scenes to build their play for a performance on that afternoon.
But no matter which day you attend, either one or both, the sessions are designed for the children to have a really fun time, creating memories, learning new skills and making new friends.
Cost: 1 Day £50
2 Days: £90
